Microcosm/Macrocosm Reflections

I am painting my bedroom and den this week.  I’m excited because we’ve yet to fully settle in since moving to Georgia.  Painting will help.  We’ll have our colors and be able to finally put up our artwork.  The energy will flow better then.

It’s hard painting in such a small space because there is nowhere to put the furniture.  I have to contort my body in all sorts of ways to work around the clutter.  It’s really hard!  I’m so cramped.

It was difficult to find the empty spaces in my mind during meditation this morning.  I realized that my mind has become a bit like the cluttered bedroom and den.  There is simply no room to move around.  The energy is not flowing well.

I know that all of life is connected.  My mind affects my environment.  My environment affects my mind.  Perhaps it’s better stated to say that my environment and mind are reflections of one another.  This is true on the microcosmic and the macrocosmic level.

Because one affects the other, it is important that I deal with my cluttered mind and my cluttered home.  Believe it or not, this will trickle out into the world at large.

This will trickle out into the world at large.

So I started the 90-day challenge yesterday as a way of dealing with my cluttered mind–to create some space and beauty there.  As I do this, I will become more open and response-able to the world at large.

After all, the world and I are reflections of one another.

I am keenly aware of my own clutter too, both internal and external. The 90-day challenge, so far, is helping me to be aware of just how much clutter there is, even without media!

Right there with you! I’ve been perched for years for a move to the mountains that hasn’t happened. I’m finally settling back into my home, cleaning out the cobwebs, simplifying, beautifying and ordering my home where it is right now. My mind is clearing and my focus is sharpening as I do it!
