I mentioned last week that I have lost my mojo. I’ve been a tad bogged down. Lately, I’ve been listening to a series of talks through Integral Spiritual Experience, World’s Spirituality, and Feminine Power in an attempt to expand my mind and spirit. It helps to be taking in such inspiration, but it is not enough.
I listened to a particularly poignant talk by August Gold the other day that sparked a little fire beneath my feet. She spoke of how we all outgrow the pot in which we are planted and the necessity of being repotted as needed. This resonates with me.
I think I’ve just been repotted and I’m going through replanting shock. I’m a bit wilty and overwhelmed by the transition. I haven’t sunk my roots deeply into my new place yet.
August Gold put forth a 90-day challenge. It’s a challenge that can help empower one to reconnect and push those roots deep. I’m going to take it; after all, I intend to bloom!
This is the challenge in a nutshell:
- Go on a 90-day media fast.
- Do a 15 minute morning practice
- 5 minutes reading from a spiritual book
- 5 minutes writing whatever comes to mind
- 5 minutes sitting in silence
Since I already do yoga and meditation, the 15-minute practice will be easy, but the media fast will be a real challenge! This means no television, no Facebook, no web surfing, no newspapers, or magazines, etc.
The idea is to take a break from all the “noise” in order to be able to connect with the still small voice. This is what I know I need.
I’ll miss Facebook and So You Think You Can Dance but I know my roots will go deep and a healthy flower will bloom.
Would you like to join me in taking the 90-day challenge? If so, send an email to me and I will tell you how I think we can support one another along the way, and feel free to share this entry with a friend. If you’d like to listen to August Gold’s talk then go to Feminine Power and sign up for their free teleseminar. There you will find her talk among many others.
My partner and I will begin on Wednesday June 16th. We’d love to have you on the journey!
