I was rummaging to find a list that I've carried with me from place to place called "Rules for a Calmer Life". I couldn't find it but came across this Pablo Neruda poem instead. If we were not so single minded
About keeping our lives moving
And for once could do nothing,
Perhaps a huge silence
Might interrupt this sadness
Of never understanding ourselves
And of threatening ourselves with death.I remember one rule which I have learned to keep (most of the time) "Do one thing at a time". I understand this to mean to give my complete attention to that one thing and not have a buzz of brain or physical activity for anything else. To me, this covers cleaning the loo, preparing a meal, working in the garden and each becomes a meditation in its own right. Others might call it mindfulness.

Hello again. One thing I do is slow down and pay attention to my senses. I'm a multi tasker and my brain is on over drive so I've found a happy medium that allows my brain to bounce around, but I'm still centered and relaxed. Thanks for the steps!

This is a wonderful post.
