The moon was full this past weekend. Did you see it? It was beautiful here in the Poconos. The moon has been rising up behind the barn in the afternoon, before dark. I was stunned the other day when I first noticed it. It took my breath away.
Many recognize the power and influence of the moon. We can see this clearly by the moon’s effect on tides. Tides are caused by the gravitational interaction between the earth and the moon. That same interaction affects us, as well. Have you ever felt a little crazy during a full moon, or not slept well? It seems to stir us at times.
A waxing moon is said to support growth and manifestation. It is a time to draw to ourselves what our souls most desire. During my meditation time recently, while the moon was still waxing, I took this idea to heart. I asked the moon to support me in drawing to me that which I desire. Being specific, setting intention, doing the ground work, I then invoked the support of the natural world. So, days later, when I suddenly saw the full moon rise in all its glory, I was touched as I remembered that ritual. I felt supported. I felt empowered. I felt gratitude.
